CSA
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a production and marketing model whereby consumers buy shares (boxes) of a farm’s harvest in advance. Consumers become CSA members by paying an agreed amount at the beginning of the growing season, either in one lump sum or in installments.
When does it start?
Sponsorship goes from June 15th through September 15, 2021.
how does it work?
Community members buy a membership from a farmer and/or
sponsor a farmer, making them shareholders. Once the growing season begins, the farmer delivers monthly “shares” (boxes) of fruits and vegetables to a consistent location at a consistent time or provide a “U PICK” day. Members will occasionally receive other crops or livestock. Because we are just starting we will be delivering one box to each Sponsor.
How much to invest?
All sponsors are asked to
donate $50 a month during this time. By sponsoring us, USDA will know that we have citizens that depend on us for local fresh food, and we can provide health organic food to the community.
when is the expected first harvest?
After our first harvest is ready, hopefully around the middle of
October we will contact each sponsor on their basket. We are diligently working at least 16 hours a day since January so our phases of developing the farm can be completed by the fall.
